Rules clarifications and links to the errata for Dungeons & Dragons.  Always good to double check to make sure you have the latest information on the rules and are aware of corrections that have been made.

Character Sheets:

http://media.wizards.com/2014/downloads/dnd/5E_CHARACTERSHEETSV3.ZIP
New characters seem to be a common sight around Adventure League tables, more so when new character options become available at the launch of new story lines.  We will continue to provide blanks character sheets in store (and DMs to help you get them filled out) but these have some bonus features.  Not only can you find standard printer friendly versions of all three sheets (character, optional info, and spell sheets) but there are also variant sheet layouts, and form fillable versions (great if you have bad hand writing or want to use a tablet or smart phone for your character sheet).

Adventurers League Log Sheet:

http://media.wizards.com/downloads/dnd/DnDAdvLgLogsheet.pdf
While we are fairly casual at our events, if you want to be able to use your characters at other Adventurers League events (other stores, conventions, or home games) you’re going to need some of these to chronicle your character’s career and all the cool loot you got along the way.  Blank log sheets are also available in store, just like blank character sheets.

As always our helpful Dungeon Masters are available in store to answer any questions you may have.

Dungeons and Dragons Expeditions – Defiance in Phlan (DDEX1-1)

by January 15, 2016

Sunday December 14th we continue Expeditions with the module Defiance in Phlan (DDEX1-1).

“The Cult of the Dragon has come to Phlan, a lawless refuge on the Moonsea.  Now, with no significant authority to stop the cult, other power groups in the Realms — the Harpers, Order of the Gauntlet, Emerald Enclave, Lords’ Alliance, and even the Zhentarim — must unite to stop the cult from fulfilling its dark purpose in the city.” – Wizards of the Coast

New players are always welcome, and sample characters are available to get you right into the action.

Existing D&D Adventure League characters of 1st to 4th level are welcome to participate provided that the character has not already played through this module (Note: You can play through a module you have previously played as many times as you want, you just can’t use the same character to do so).  As a reminder make sure to have your Adventure League Tracking Sheets present and all up to date for any existing character you wish to use.

We will be kicking off Expeditions with this month’s new module Outlaws of the Iron Route.  The adventure is set in the Moonsea region of the Forgotten Realms, in the town of Phlan and west along the Iron Route, a major trade route through the area.  Two groups of bandits are fighting over a key trade route into Phlan and it’s up to a group of brave adventurers to secure the trade route so merchants can once again get goods and supplies into Phlan.

As an added bonus we have received the magic item tracking cards for this month’s Expeditions.  Please note that there is one card available per table and standard Adventure League rules will be followed for assigning the item (Adventurer’s League Players Guide page 6).

Pokemon TCG

by November 30, 2014

Pokemon“In the Pokémon Trading Card Game, players build decks around their favorite Pokémon and then play against each other, sending their Pokémon into battle to prove who the best Pokémon Trainer is. Players can begin with theme decks—preconstructed decks designed to cover the basics of the game. Then, they can augment their card collections with booster packs that provide more cards, letting players develop more diverse decks. With thousands of cards to choose from, the game is never the same twice. The Pokémon Company International releases four sets of cards, called “expansions,” each year, so the game continues to evolve and expand for both players and collectors.” – The Pokemon Company

Pathfinder

by November 30, 2014

Pathfinder“The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game puts you in the role of a brave adventurer fighting to survive in a world beset by magic and evil!

“Take on the role of a canny fighter hacking through enemies with an enchanted sword, a powerful sorceress blessed with magic by the hint of demon blood in her veins, a wise cleric of gods benevolent or malign, a witty rogue ready to defuse even the deadliest of traps, or any of countless other heroes. The only limit is your imagination!

“The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game is an evolution of the 3.5 rules set of the world’s oldest fantasy roleplaying game, designed using the feedback of tens of thousands of gamers just like you. Players need only the single 576-page Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook to play, while the Game Master who controls the action will also want the Pathfinder RPG Bestiary, a massive tome containing more than 350 fantastic foes for your adventurers to face. The Pathfinder RPG is a fully supported roleplaying game, with regularly released adventure modules, sourcebooks on the fantastic world of Golarion, and complete campaigns in the form of Pathfinder Adventure Paths like Council of Thieves and Kingmaker.

“The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game has been designed with compatibility with previous editions in mind, so you’ll be able to use your existing library of 3.5 products with minimal effort. In fact, the Pathfinder RPG is designed to smooth over a number of the rough spots in the 3.5 rules set, making several existing books even easier to use. On the other hand, the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game contains numerous additional options and exciting new takes on classic character classes and races, infusing the game with a level of excitement that will carry it years into the future.

“Since Paizo released the first playtest documents in March of 2008, more than 50,000 gamers have downloaded the rules and posted their feedback, resulting in a year-long open playtest that was the largest in the history of tabletop roleplaying games. Going back to the beginning of third edition, the rules engine that powers the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game has enjoyed more than 10 years of active playtesting and revision, making it the most robust set of fantasy RPG rules ever published.” – Paizo

Munchkin

by November 30, 2014

Munchkin“Go down in the dungeon. Kill everything you meet. Backstab your friends and steal their stuff. Grab the treasure and run.

“Admit it. You love it.

“Munchkin is the mega-hit card game about dungeon adventure . . . with none of that stupid roleplaying stuff. You and your friends compete to kill monsters and grab magic items. And what magic items! Don the Horny Helmet and the Boots of Butt-Kicking. Wield the Staff of Napalm . . . or maybe the Chainsaw of Bloody Dismemberment. Start by slaughtering the Potted Plant and the Drooling Slime, and work your way up to the Plutonium Dragon . . .

“And it’s illustrated by John Kovalic!

“Fast-playing and silly, Munchkin can reduce any roleplaying group to hysteria. And, while they’re laughing, you can steal their stuff.” – Steve Jackson Games
